Throughout American history, there's been a tactic used by conservative, wealthy people, where they point at some ethnic group, and then convince poor white people that the ethnic group is the root of all their problems. Usually it's something like, "Black people are using up all of your tax money on welfare" or "Mexicans are stealing all of your jobs", etc.

I actually don't remember hearing the story of this particular school shooting when it happened (which is a commentary in and of itself - that there are too many to keep track of). But the details of what happened before the shooting - the warnings, the opportunity to be a good parent - well, it's all just very frustrating.
