Two young activists must choose between violence and peace to bring down the corrupt politician responsible for the death of their childhood friend.

"Straw Man" is the story of two friends: Rome, who is Black, and Clay, who is white. Through flashbacks of their childhood and teen years, we see them experimenting with different types of protest, both peaceful and violent, which brings us to the present story: their attempts to bring a corrupt politician to justice.

Rome and Clay learn that this congressman’s backroom dealings are responsible for the death of their childhood friend, and many others. They’re joined in their righteous cause by Emilia, an aspiring journalist with motivations that may not line up with theirs.
