Rapture Practice

I was raised in a small church that grew into a mega church, and I remember in 1989, the pastor said he was pretty sure that the rapture would happen in the next ten years. One of my friends was seriously thinking that there was no reason to go to college or work on his life because we were all going to be yanked away into the sky. So in his mind, "what was the point?"

Sexism in healthcare

I think this week's comic speaks for itself, but it involves a tragic story of multiple doctors not listening to a young woman's concerns about her health. I imagine that it's challenging to be a medical professional, and see thousands of sick and dying people over the years, while still trying to preserve your own mental and emotional health - all without losing your sense of compassion. Then of course, there are patients who lie and manipulate, and they have to be dealt with as well.
