Butterfly: the 1st Black Woman superhero!
Here's the tale of the 1st story that I ever had in Image Comics: Back in 1971 , writer Gary Friedrich (creator of Ghost-Rider ) & comics artist Rich Buckler created a comic starring Butterfly , the 1st Black superheroine to ever appear in comics! She was a soul singer, Marian Michaels , who fought crime in costume with a jet-pack and wings. (You can read that original story here .) Unfortunately, Butterfly's publisher, Skywald , went out of business the next month, and never

I just learned about this a couple of months ago ! I found the episode, and watched it. That mug was weird, and I didn't actually enjoy it very much. So I imagined what might be a cooler conversation between these 2 characters. And thus was born the comic that's attached to this post! If you become a member of my website o

About Vaccines - "It Ain't New, Dude!"
This is an educational comic that I wrote for Basalt Libraries, with art by my buddy Sabyasachi Chakma. The challenge here was to get across a LOT of information about vaccines in 4 pages, while still making it sort of fun and engaging. Sabyasachi's artwork definitely helped a lot in regards to the latter. The research in this comic was provided by the library, and I learned a lot of things I didn't know. The library also provided the Spanish translation for the comic, so you
