I actually don't remember hearing the story of this particular school shooting when it happened (which is a commentary in and of itself - that there are too many to keep track of). But the details of what happened before the shooting - the warnings, the opportunity to be a good parent - well, it's all just very frustrating.

Years ago, I read "Rising Out of Hatred: The Awakening of a Former White Nationalist", which was about a guy who'd been raised to be the next great voice of white supremacy. It's about how he slowly moved out of that movement, but in the early parts of his life, thought he was doing something noble. He also claims to have coined the phrase "white genocide" when he was a teenager, and as an adult, he regrets how the term has been used to justify racism.
