About
Class description: In this class, we'll go over the process of writing a comic/graphic novel! (Don't worry, you won't have to draw. :) ) Each month, we'll use brief writing prompts to try out each aspect of this process. You'll also learn the basics of communicating with an artist in your scripts, as well as how to use visual elements to convey the subtler aspects of your story – things like body language, facial expressions, etc. By the end of the class, you'll have: 1. A basic understanding of how comics scripts are structured 2. Familiarity with the storytelling tools that a graphic novel author can rely on the artist for 3. Some practice with writing visual scenes to convey a character's internal journey You'll emerge from this class with the tools you'll need to write your own scripts, plus a couple of reference books to help you out in that process.
This program is connected to a group. You’ll be added once you join the program.
